How do customers know if their passport submission was accepted, and what legal machinery exists around how Fidor have to store it after validation (successful or not)? I submitted mine before the deadline, but haven't had any communication from Fidor about whether it was OK or not.

I opened an account and sent ID but only think they get back to you if there are any issues or problems, so if you don't hear to the contrary then what you sent was OK.
As for storage it is the same as any other firm. The personal data, including copies of ID, are retained in accordance with EU Data Protection Regulations.
about 1 month from MIROWHi rys, thanks for getting in touch. FYI the passport deadline was postponed whilst we look into an alternative. Having said that I can see that we have processed your passport and everything is ok, unless customer service have asked for further information. You should have also recieved a confirmation email from customer service and apologies if this is not the case.
We store our data on an internal system, which is extremely safe and secure.
